found on craigslist: 1985 trek 470. I didn't believe the guy when he said it wasn't ridden more than 10 miles—there were scuffs and some rusting on the frame—but it fit billie well and was in pretty good condition otherwise so we took it home with us. it wasn't until I tuned the bike up that I realized this guy wasn't kidding—it's like it sat in someone's garage for 20 years, wrestling with shovels and hoes, until someone decided to do some spring cleaning. good for us.
